50 Outbid placements.Clicks are not revenue.

A public-signal analysis of 50 products that paid for placement. “Clicks” below are directory-reported public clicks—not audited site visits, conversions, or revenue.

Correction · 8 September 2026: the original headline implied an earnings conclusion the data did not support. Revenue and profit were not measured. The dated observations below are unchanged.

$2,835

669

$11

The signal is weaker than the leaderboard makes it look

Pay-to-rank directories sell a simple story: bid more, move up, get seen. The public data tells a less comfortable story. The median among listings with at least one public click worked out to roughly $11 in observed spend per public directory click.

That is not CAC. It is not audited CPC. It is not proof that a click reached the product site. It is simply the narrowest public signal available—and enough to show why blindly chasing rank is a poor learning strategy.

The expensive-looking cases

ProductSpendClicksSpend/click
Strive Math$1021$102.00
Hyperfocus$701$70.00
Dessix$1032$51.50
Voquill$902$45.00
Angel Match$1053$35.00

None of these figures proves the products earned nothing. The directory does not publish verified downstream visits, signups, or sales. The narrower conclusion is useful: the public signal is too weak to justify adding more money without attribution.

The outliers that look efficient

ProductSpendClicksSpend/click
Tibly$18155$0.12
OnlyWorks$852$0.15
TheTabber$11552$2.21

These are not automatic winners either. A high public-click count still does not tell us whether the right people visited, understood the offer, or converted.

Five rules before the next bid

  1. 01

    Separate observation from inference.

Treat board spend and clicks as public signals; keep conversion and ROI unknown until your own analytics confirms them.

  2. 02

    Run the smallest attributable test.

Use a unique URL or campaign tag. Add budget only after a real visit, signup, conversation, or payment.

  3. 03

    Compare before defending sunk cost.

A lower-cost board with better audience fit can create more useful evidence than another bid on an expensive position.

  4. 04

    Keep a reserve.

Do not commit the whole learning budget to one ranking. Preserve enough for a second test.

  5. 05

    Judge the listing too.

Audience fit, headline, description, and CTA must earn the click; rank cannot rescue weak positioning.

The decision layer

Know where the next small budget deserves a test.

Outsmart shows one sourced opportunity for free. The $9 Full Bid Plan ranks five options, suggests budget allocation and bid ranges, flags boards to avoid, and drafts the listing copy. It does not promise traffic or ROI.

Method and labels

Dataset: 50 products from the public Outbids catalog reviewed on 1 Sep 2026. Observed spend and public clicks are directory-displayed fields. Spend per public click divides the two only for listings with a positive click count. Outsmart scores, fit, test ranges, and alternatives are rule-based estimates. Audited destination traffic, signups, conversion, CAC, revenue, and profit were not measured.
